Job Description:

Implements tasks associated with managing vegetation, food plots, native habitat, and invasive weeds; maintains infrastructure; and, assists visitors on company-owned lands at the C.J. Strike Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and other habitat management areas in southern Idaho.


Knowledge of:

  • Flood irrigation systems

  • Operation and maintenance of agricultural and construction equipment.

Skills in:

  • Agricultural operations and mechanical and basic electrical skills

  • Operation of ATVs, jet boats, and heavy equipment.

Ability to:

  • Perform physically demanding labor for extended periods of time. Work independently and with teams, and perform tasks with minimum supervision. Use power and hand tools, small machinery, and weed-spraying equipment. Effectively and positively represent the company when interacting with diverse groups of people on issues that can be highly contentious

  • Work under multiple deadlines.



  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Prefer:

  • Associate of Arts Degree in a related discipline: ecology, botany, range management, etc.


  • One year of applicable experience managing vegetation and maintaining farm infrastructure

  • Demonstrated ability to carry tasks to completion.

  • Prefer:

  • Restoration techniques associated with riparian and rangeland vegetation communities.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position. DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain prior to hire.

  • Prefer:

  • Idaho Pesticide Applicator's license.


Job requires the person to occasionally bend, stoop, squat, crouch, crawl, climb into and out of vehicles/boats, twist, kneel, balance, reach, and walk on uneven and steep terrain for prolonged periods of time; sit in a car/truck for long periods of time while traveling to and from locations; function in a boat while on rough water or on land in rough, rocky terrain, frequently lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. shoulder high and above, and 50 to 100 lbs waist high and knee high; frequently use exertional force up to 100 lbs to push/pull items; frequently carry items weighing 50 to 100 lbs with two hands, or up to 25 lbs with one hand. Must be able to drive an ATV/UTVand 4x4 vehicle, grasp and hold simple hand/power tools, sprayers, and controls on various types of equipment, use fine motor skills to write, operate a computer keyboard, and use small hand tools. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat of harm to self, others or property. Job placement is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment post-offer Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exam.


Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends. Travel across Idaho Power service area, with occasional overnight stays.
